1. Agrees that one of the main reasons for the Commission communication entitled 'A Competitive Automotive Regulatory Framework for the 21st Century' (COM(2007)0022) is the determination to make a contribution to the EU’s growth and jobs strategy and that the intention is also to do more, by adapting vehicles and infrastructure and applying technological innovation, to make European roads safer;
1. convient qu'un motif fondamental de la communication de la Commission intitulée "Un cadre réglementaire concurrentiel pour le secteur automobile au XXI siècle" (COM(2007)0022) est d'apporter une contribution à la stratégie de l'Union européenne pour la croissance et l'emploi et qu'il est souhaitable de promouvoir encore, par l'adaptation et l'innovation technique des véhicules et des infrastructures, la sécurité routière en Europe;
