In response to the Commission's proposals for the protection of critical infrastructure (i.e. physical installations and computer networks, as well as services which in the event of failure or destruction could have widespread repercussions for the health and welfare of the population or the work of government : the banking sector, finance, transport, energy), Ms Bakogianni wants a commission set up with responsibility for drawing up the criteria which the Member States will set out for defining critical infrastructure.
