2. Notwithstanding Article 51a(1) of Directive 78/660/EEC, if the Commission has not adopted a common standard for audit reports in accordance with Article 26(1) of this Directive, it may, in accordance with the procedure referred to in Article 48(2) of this Directive, adopt a common standard for audit reports for annual or consolidated accounts which have been prepared in accordance with approved international accounting standards, in order to enhance public confidence in the audit function.

Nonobstant l'article 51 bis, paragraphe 1, de la directive 78/660/CEE, si la Commission n'a pas adopté une norme commune pour les rapports d'audit conformément à l'article 26, paragraphe 1, de la présente directive, elle peut, selon la procédure visée à l'article 48, paragraphe 2, de la présente directive, afin de renforcer la confiance du public dans la fonction d'audit, adopter une norme commune pour les rapports d'audit pour les comptes annuels ou les comptes consolidés, lorsque ces comptes ont été élaborés conformément aux normes comptables internationales approuvées.
