The second day (25 November) will be devoted more specifically to two topics which are fundamental to university policy - also in the context of European integration: the relationship between pure and applied research and between teaching and research. These topics will be introduced by the winner of the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, Mr Ilya Prigogine, and the Deputy-Rector of the University of Pisa, Professor G. Paduano, before being discussed in more detail.
