It must, however, at the same time be pointed out that it is crucially important that the debate surrounding the introduction of a possible Tobin tax should take place on a worldwide basis in international and national forums and without, as a side-effect, increasing the EU’s powers at the expense of those of the aforementioned forums.
Nous devons toutefois insister sur l'importance de veiller à ce que la discussion sur l'introduction d'une éventuelle taxe Tobin se déroule à un niveau mondial, dans des forums nationaux et internationaux, et en évitant que cela n'entraîne, comme effet secondaire, un accroissement des compétences de l'UE au détriment de ces forums.
