While endorsing the Open Method of Coordination initiated by the European Commission between economic and social policy, employment policy and social security policy, the CoR - in its Opinion entitled "Strengthening the social dimension of the Lisbon strategy: streamlining open coordination in the field of social protection", prepared by Lena Celion, municipal commissioner of the Gotland Municipality (SV-EPP) - thinks it important to ensure compliance with the principle of subsidiarity.
Si le CdR approuve la méthode de coordination ouverte initiée par la Commission entre la politique économique et sociale, la politique de l'emploi et la politique de sécurité sociale, le Comité, dans son avis intitulé "Renforcement de la dimension sociale de la stratégie de Lisbonne: rationalisation de la coordination ouverte dans le domaine de la protection sociale", préparé par Lena Celion, membre du Conseil municipal de la commune de Gotland (SV-PPE), estime cependant important de veiller au respect du principe de subsidiarité.
