With the aim of improving the conditions in which animals are transported at present, the proposal seeks to strengthen the provisions of the aforementioned Directive by incorporating in it stricter provisions on loading densities in vehicles for certain types of animal and requiring the persons in charge of transport undertakings to submit route plans stating watering and feeding intervals and the animals' rest periods.
Cette proposition vise - dans le but d'améliorer les conditions dans lesquelles les animaux sont actuellement transportés - à renforcer les dispositions de la directive précitée en y insérant des exigences plus strictes en matière de densité de chargement des moyens de transport pour certains types d'animaux et imposant aux opérateurs le dépôt d'un plan de marche précisant les intervalles d'abreuvement et d'alimentation et en y fixant les périodes de repos des animaux.
