Whether it is through the International Joint Commission or another mechanism, although IJC references are preferred solutions, any other mechanism consistent with the treaty fits our goal to work toward a solution that addresses Canada's environmental concerns to protect the Sheyenne River, the Red River, Lake Winnipeg and the Boundary Waters Treaty.
Les renvois à la Commission mixte internationale constituent, pour nous, le moyen privilégié de régler les différends, mais nous accepterions tout autre mécanisme conforme au traité qui nous permettrait de trouver une solution qui calmerait les inquiétudes du Canada pour l'environnement, protégerait la rivière Sheyenne, la rivière Rouge et le lac Winnipeg, et respecterait le Traité des eaux limitrophes.
