Definition: Disorders in which normal patterns of language acquisition are disturbed from the early stages of development. The conditions are not directly attributable to neurological or speech mechanism abnormalities, sensory impairments, mental retardation, or environmental factors. Specific developmental disorders of speech and language are often followed by associated problems, such as difficulties in reading and spelling, abnormalities in interpersonal relationships, and emotional and behavioural disorders.

Recently, using Artificial Intelligence and deep learning techniques in combination with HPC has also led to major breakthroughs in areas like image segmentation (pattern recognition), speech recognition (recognition and translation of spoken language into text by computers) or self-driving cars.

We were, however, advised that simultaneous interpretation only captures about 80% of the original speech, on average, so that a French language version based on an English language interpretation of an original Inuktitut speech could not be relied upon to capture more than about 65% of the original.

But unlike the Prime Minister, who delivered the same speech to Canadians in both official languages, the Bloc leader had two different messages for Canadians (1410) In his French language speech, the separatist leader was content to put the past on trial and to accuse the Canadian government of all the problems in the world.
