28 (1) If a seaman has, on their employer’s request, submitted themselves for exami
nation, or has been examined by a duly qualified medical practitioner selected by themselves, and a
copy of the medical practitioner’s report on the seaman’s condition has been furnished in the former case by the employer to the seaman and in the latter case by the seaman to the employer, the Minister may, on the application of either of them or of his or her own motion, refer the matter to

28 (1) Lorsque le marin s’est, à la demande de son employeur, soumis à l’examen, ou lorsqu’il a subi un examen fait par un médecin dûment qualifié et choisi par lui-même, et qu’une copie du rapport de ce praticien quant à l’état du marin a été fournie, dans le premier cas, par l’employeur au marin, et, dans le second cas, par le marin à l’employeur, le ministre peut, à la demande de l’une des parties ou de son propre chef, soumettre le cas à un arbitre médical.
