In addition, taking into account confirmation of the recent outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the Netherlands, and the continuing risk of further outbreaks of that disease in the Union, that can persist over prolonged periods of time even during the summer months, the measures laid down in that Implementing Decision should continue to apply until the end of the year.
