However, notwithstanding the foregoing paragraph, the presence of a vine variety which does not appear on the list may be permitted by Member States for a period of three years from the date on which the demarcation of a specified region comes into effect, where the said demarcation was made after 31 December 1979, provided that such vine variety belongs to the species Vitis vinifera and that it does not represent more than 20 % of the vine varieties on the vineyard or vineyard plot involved.
3. Toutefois, par dérogation au point 2, la présence d'une variété de vigne ne figurant pas sur la liste peut être admise par les États membres pendant une période de trois ans à compter de la date de prise d'effet de la délimitation d'une région déterminée effectuée après le 31 décembre 1979 lorsque cette variété de vigne appartient à l'espèce Vitis vinifera et qu'elle ne représente pas plus de 20 % de l'encépagement de la parcelle ou de la pièce de vigne considérée.
