...[+++]e national parliaments of the Member States and of the applicant states, and of the European Parliament, should take part in this conference; considers, furthermore, that the Conference should be extended to include additional members of the various committees to ensure it is broadly representative of the political spectrum, on the basis of equal representation for the European Parliament; the aim of the Conference would be to review, in conjunction with the Council Presidency, the High Representative for the CFSP and the Commissioner responsible for external relations, the development of the EU common security and defence policy with a view to ensuring appropriate parliamentary monitoring of the policy;
