The legislation of eight Member States (the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Hungary, Austria, Portugal and Slovakia) contains a provision in the general section of the Penal Code, and one therefore that is applicable to all offences, for the explicit recognition of foreign convictions so that sentences may be increased.
