Les pays qui ont ratifié la convention, dont certains États membres de l'Union, doivent prendre des mesures dans les domaines suivants: l'accès à l'éducation, à l'emploi, aux transports, aux infrastructures et aux bâtiments ouverts au public, l'octroi du droit de vote, l'amélioration de la participation politique et la jouissance de la pleine capacité juridique par toutes les personnes handicapées.
Ratifying countries, such as the EU Member States, should take action in the following areas: access to education, employment, transport, infrastructures and buildings open to the public, granting the right to vote, improving political participation and ensuring full legal capacity of all people with disabilities.
