Réagissant au processus de réforme économique du Myanmar entamé en 2011 et après la décision, en juin 2012, de la Conférence de l'Organisation internationale du travail (OIT) de suspendre sa résolution restrictive concernant le Myanmar, l'Union européenne a rétabli les préférences tarifaires du «Système de préférences généralisées» le 19 juillet 2013, avec application rétroactive au 13 juin 2012.
Responding to Myanmar's political and economic reform process begun in 2011 and after the June 2012 decision by the Conference of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to suspend its restrictive resolution on Myanmar/Burma, the European Union reinstated the "Generalised Scheme of Preferences" (GSP) tariff preferences on 19 July 2013, with retroactive application as of 13 June 2012.
