Deplores the protectionist US decision to impose extraordinary tariffs of up to 30% on steel imports, in flagrant violation of WTO rules, targeting mainly imports from the EU, but damaging also other steel producers around the world; fears that this hostile and unilateral act, perpetuating a pattern of disregard by the present US administration for the views and interests of its allies and partners, will further damage the reputation of the USA and efforts to build international partnership;
