Eu égard aux millions d’euros investis pour financer les Réseaux transeuropéens (RTE) de transport et au financement par la BEI de la liaison ferroviaire du tunnel sous la Manche (Channel Tunnel Rail Link - CTRL) entre le sud-est de l’Angleterre et le nord de la France, et considérant qu’Eurostar, qui constitue un monopole, a annoncé récemment la fermeture de la ligne Ashford-Bruxelles au mois de novembre prochain, la Commission admet-elle que d’autres sociétés devraient à présent être autorisées et encouragées à soumettre des offres pour ce service?

The CTRL project is principally about the construction and operation of the rail link but the deal also involves the transfer of two government-owned companies to London and Continental Railways (LCR), the consortium responsible for building and operating the CTRL.
