It is notorious, in terms of being on the record, that the purpose of this bill is to signify the Parliament of Canada's assent, as a matter of constitutional convention, following the precedents and the preamble of the Statute of Westminster, to the alterations in the law so that, henceforth, the rule of male predominance will no longer apply to the succession to the throne and elder daughters will succeed over their younger brothers.
Je tiens à signaler qu'il est bien connu que l'objectif du projet de loi est d'indiquer l'assentiment du Parlement du Canada, à titre de convention constitutionnelle, en se fondant sur les précédents et le préambule du Statut de Westminster, aux changements apportés à la loi pour que, dorénavant, la règle de prédominance masculine ne s'applique plus à la succession au trône et pour que les filles aînées puissent prendre la succession avant leurs frères cadets.
