In May and June 1987 the Constitution Race was held, an amateur transatlantic yacht race for crews from the Member States of the Community and from the United States, organized by the non-profit association "Sail for Europe" to mark the 30th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome and the 200th anniversary of the American Constitution.
Par ailleurs, en mai/juin 1987 s'est disputée la "Course de la Constitution", une "transat" pour voiliers amateurs des pays membres ainsi que des Etats-Unis, organisée par l'Association sans but lucratif "Sail for Europe" pour commémorer le 30ème anniversaire des Traités de Rome et le 200ème anniversaire de la Constitution Américaine.
