BPK has adopted a considerable number of prudential and supervisory regulations, which establish the essential foundations for a modern supervisory function, based on international best regulatory practices.

At the beginning of 2002 the Banking and Payments Authority of Kosovo (BPK) imported 413.3 million euro in banknotes and 5.5 million euro in coins in order to facilitate the changeover, while private banks imported another 142 million euro to Kosovo.
