Personally, as an independent financial analyst who has worked in the investment industry and has worked extensively both in the courtroom and outside of the courtroom with white-collar crime victim groups, I agree with the general thrust of the bill.

Essentiellement, au moment où l'intention de déposer le projet de loi C-52 avait été annoncée, ces groupes de victimes s'étaient dits en faveur des dispositions générales du projet de loi. Personnellement, en tant qu'analyste financière indépendante qui a travaillé dans le secteur des investissements et qui a beaucoup travaillé avec des groupes de victimes de crime économique, autant en salle d'audience qu'à l'extérieur, je suis d'accord avec l'objectif général du projet de loi.

I do not take issue with clause 5, but I do take issue with the thrusts of this bill that are not salary increases, or even necessary to the increases, but rather, bear directly on other public policy issues, particularly accountability to Parliament for the public purse.

Je ne conteste pas l'article 5, mais je conteste les dispositions de ce projet de loi qui ne portent pas sur les augmentations du traitement, ou qui ne sont même pas nécessaires à ces augmentations, mais qui portent plutôt directement sur d'autres questions de politique publique, notamment l'obligation de rendre compte au Parlement de tout ce qui concerne le Trésor public.
