15. Supports international initiatives for countering radicalisation and terrorism such as the first International Centre of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism (‘Hedayah’) in Abu Dhabi and the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) in Geneva; notes that the successful EU Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) offers expertise to engage with local communities as well as with third countries;

133. Calls on the Commission and Member States to cooperate closely in order to exchange best practice and lessons learned in the area of counter-radicalisation policies; considers in this regard that local and regional authorities are well placed to share best practice in tackling radicalisation and polarisation and therefore calls for their involvement in devising counter-terrorism strategies;
