It was agreed, - That in response to the decision by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration to delay creation of the refugee appeal division provided for in the new Act, the Committee recommends to the Minister that he consider retaining two Board members to judge the admissibility of asylum claims and that the Representative from the Bloc Quebecois be authorized on behalf of the Committee to relay the above decision of the Committee to the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and to the Canadian Council for Refugees.
Il est convenu - Que suite à la décision du Ministre de la Citoyenneté et de l’immigration de surseoir à la mise sur pied de la section d’appel des réfugiés prévue dans la nouvelle Loi, le comité recommande au Ministre d’envisager le maintien en place de deux commissaires pour juger de la recevabilité des demandes d’asile et que le représentant du Bloc québecois soit autorisé au nom du comité de transmettre la présente décision du comité au ministre de la Citoyenneté et de l’immigration et au Conseil canadien pour les réfugiés.
