The Commission found that post transaction, the merged entity would continue to face competition from a number of strong competitors upstream; that 2-EHA producers would continue to have a range of alternative customers inside and outside the European Economic Area (EEA) ; and that the merger would not result in any substantial change in the markets concerned since Solutia is not currently a customer of Eastman in the EEA.
La Commission a conclu qu’à l’issue de l’opération, la nouvelle entité serait toujours confrontée à plusieurs concurrents importants en amont, que les producteurs de 2-EHA pourraient continuer à compter sur un nombre important d'autres clients à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de l'Espace économique européen (EEE) et que la concentration n'entraînerait aucune modification substantielle sur les marchés concernés dans la mesure où Solutia n’est actuellement pas cliente d’Eastman dans l’EEE.
