Emphasises that an AA or a DCFTA with the European Union is not connected to NATO integration; stresses, in this regard, that the question of NATO membership is a highly divisive issue in both Ukrainian society and European public opinion; notes that in the given circumstances the VR has voted to end Ukraine’s non-aligned status, but expresses concern that all initiatives for NATO membership would increase the tensions in the wider region;
23. souligne que l'accord d'association ou l'accord de libre-échange approfondi et complet avec l'Union européenne n'est aucunement lié à une intégration de l'Ukraine au sein de l'OTAN; fait observer à cet égard que l'adhésion à l'OTAN divise profondément tant la société ukrainienne que l'opinion publique européenne; fait observer que, eu égard aux circonstances, le parlement ukrainien a voté la fin du statut de non-aligné du pays mais craint que toute initiative allant dans le sens d'une adhésion à l'OTAN puisse aggraver les tensions dans la région au sens large;
