Dealing with deforestation, the destruction of the forests, clearly forms part of the Spanish Presidency’s objectives and we understand that it is necessary to apply some of the instruments which the European Union has at its disposal, for example, the Non-Legally Binding Instrument, on all types of forest, and the European Union’s action plan on Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade which, for example, stipulates the creation of a legal framework to prevent the importing of illegally felled wood.
S’agissant de déforestation, la destruction des forêts fait clairement partie des objectifs de la Présidence espagnole et nous comprenons qu’il est nécessaire d’appliquer à tous les types de forêt certains des instruments dont l’Union européenne dispose, par exemple l’instrument non contraignant et le Plan d’action de l’UE relatif à l’application des réglementations forestières, à la gouvernance et aux échanges commerciaux qui prévoit, par exemple, la création d’un cadre juridique pour empêcher l’importation de bois issu de coupes illégales.
