We want all women in Europe to know how to get access, in the safest possible way, to contraceptives and terminations and to information about them and the safest ways to use them and then to be free to decide for themselves what they want. It is clear that this case, at the end of the day, not only has the most profound effect on individual women’s right to choose, but that it is also and at the same time a highly political act, and that is why we cannot accept the violation of two of the four basic freedoms.
Nous voulons que toutes les femmes d’Europe sachent comment avoir accès, le plus sûrement possible, aux contraceptifs et interruptions de grossesse, ainsi qu’aux informations à leur sujet et quant aux manières les plus sûres de les utiliser, pour être libres ensuite de décider elles-mêmes ce qu’elles veulent. Il est clair qu’au bout du compte, cette affaire a non seulement un effet profond sur le droit personnel des femmes à choisir, mais qu’elle représente aussi et en même temps un acte éminemment politique, et c’est pourquoi nous ne pouvons accepter la violation de deux des quatre libertés fondamentales.
