Le réseau pourrait contribuer à sensibiliser davantage les pays tiers aux défis liés à la prolifération des ADM et aux armes conventionnelles, y compris le commerce illicite et l’accumulation excessive d’ALPC et de leurs munitions, et à la nécessité de travailler en coopération avec l’Union et dans le cadre des enceintes multilatérales, en particulier les Nations unies, afin de prévenir, de décourager, d’arrêter et, si possible, de supprimer les programmes de prolifération qui sont source de préoccupation au niveau mondial et le commerce illicite et l’accumulation excessive d’ALPC et de leurs munitions.
