The thrust of my argument in the bill I will introduce asks that the government before we commit troops ask for authorization for the specific mission of the peacekeeping service; to specify the objectives, duties and role of the mission; to define the state or area in which the mission is to operate; specify the date on which that authority is to expire; specify the maximum planned expenditure for the mission.
L'objet de ce projet de loi d'initiative parlementaire est de demander qu'avant que le gouvernement ne s'engage à fournir des troupes, il obtienne l'autorisation de les envoyer en mission de maintien de la paix. Pour ce faire, il devra préciser les objectifs, le rôle et la fonction de la mission en question; définir l'État ou la région où se déroulera la mission; fixer la date d'expiration de l'autorisation ainsi que le montant maximum qui sera consacré à cette mission.
