On the basis of Article 93.1 of the Treaty of Rome, the Commission is informing Member States that it will continue to view with disfavour any aids, whether industrial, regional or general, which have the effect of increasing individual firms' net production capacity in the synthetic fibres industry (which for this purpose is defined as including the production of all acrylic, polyester, polypropylene and polyamide fibres and yarns and the texturisation of these yarns, regardless of the nature or type of product or end use).
