This is not to mention throwing up barriers to public involvement in those meetings to begin with, as in the current CEAA assessment of the modifications for radioactive waste storage at Point Lepreau, where the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission is holding hearings in Ottawa for a project in southern New Brunswick, public hearings to consider whether the scope of the assessment is adequate, which is totally unacceptable and creates a tremendous barrier to public involvement.
Et je ne parle pas des obstacles à la participation publique lors de ces réunions, comme dans le cas de l'évaluation en cours à l'ACEE sur les modifications proposées aux installations de stockage des déchets radioactifs à Point Lepreau; la Commission canadienne de sûreté nucléaire tient des audiences à Ottawa pour un projet qui se déroulera dans le sud du Nouveau-Brunswick, des audiences publiques visant à déterminer si l'ampleur de l'évaluation est satisfaisante, ce qui est tout à fait inacceptable et constitue un obstacle énorme à la participation du grand public.
