Those who would apply this principle to their opposition to energy projects have, of course, every right to do so, but they should not have an unlimited, endless time frame within which to do it at the expense of the many economic, social, workforce, investment and development and trade benefits associated with any particular energy or pipeline initiative related to the oil sands, the environmental footprint of which is competitively responsible against many other sources of energy worldwide.
