(b) the term “United Arab Emirates” means the United Arab Emirates and, when used in a geographical sense, means the area in which the territory is under its sovereignty as well as the territorial sea, airspace and submarine areas over which the United Arab Emirates exercises, in conformity with international law and the laws of the United Arab Emirates, sovereign rights, including the mainland and islands under its jurisdiction in respect of any activity carried on in connection with the exploration for or the exploitation of the natural resources of the seabed and subsoil;
b) l’expression « Émirats Arabes Unis » désigne les Émirats Arabes Unis et, lorsqu’employée dans un sens géographique, elle désigne la région à l’intérieur de laquelle le territoire relève de sa souveraineté ainsi que la mer territoriale, l’espace aérien et les régions sous-marines sur lesquels les Émirats Arabes Unis exercent, conformément au droit international et en vertu des lois des Émirats Arabes Unis, des droits souverains, y compris le territoire et les îles sous sa juridiction à l’égard de toute activité poursuivie en rapport avec l’exploration ou l’exploitation des ressources naturelles du fond et du sous-sol de la mer;
