German citizens residing abroad are eligible to vote in national elections provided they fulfil one of the following conditions: either: i) that they had resided in Germany for an uninterrupted period of at least three months after reaching the age of fourteen years and this period dates back not more than 25 years; or ii) that they have become familiar, personally and directly, with the political situation in Germany and are affected by it[20].
Les citoyens allemands résidant à l'étranger sont autorisés à voter lors des scrutins nationaux pour autant qu'ils remplissent l'une des conditions suivantes: i) avoir résidé en Allemagne pendant une durée ininterrompue d’au moins trois mois après avoir atteint l’âge de 14 ans, et ce au cours des 25 dernières années; ii) s'être familiarisés, personnellement et directement, avec la situation politique en Allemagne et être concernés par cette situation[20].
