In its resolution 55/61 of 4 December 2000, the United Nations General Assembly decided to establish an Ad Hoc Committee open to all States with the task of drawing up an effective international legal instrument against corruption and requested the Secretary-General to convene an intergovernmental open-ended expert group to examine and prepare draft terms of reference for the negotiation of such an instrument.
Dans sa résolution 55/61, du 4 décembre 2000, l'Assemblée générale des Nations unies a décidé de créer une comité spécial ouvert à tous les États chargé d'élaborer un instrument juridique international efficace contre la corruption; elle a également invité le Secrétaire général à convoquer un groupe intergouvernemental d'experts à composition non limitée chargé d'examiner et d'élaborer un projet de mandat pour la négociation dudit instrument.
