– (EL) Mr President, the real cause of the huge problem of doping in sport is the commercialisation of sport through the capitalist method of production, the objective of which is to increase the profits of the monopoly business groups; the acceptance, in other words, that an athlete may be professional and that there can therefore be professional athleticism.
- (EL) Monsieur le Président, la véritable cause de l’immense problème du dopage dans le sport est la commercialisation du sport par la méthode capitaliste de production, dont l’objectif est d’accroître les bénéfices des groupes d’entreprises jouissant d’un monopole; en d’autres termes, l’acceptation qu’un athlète puisse être professionnel et que l’athlétisme professionnel puisse exister.
