The book is well worth reading; notably certain chapters that I have marked on changing economies and changing societies by Professor Banting and Professor Simeon; another chapter on the social policy divide, the welfare state in Canada and the U.S. by Professor Banting; and finally the conclusions on globalization, fragmentation and the social contract.
Ce livre vaut certainement la peine d'être lu, surtout les chapitres que j'ai signalés et qui ont été écrits par M. Banting et M. Simeon au sujet de l'évolution de l'économie et de la société; il y a aussi le chapitre de M. Banting sur la ligne de partage de la politique sociale, l'État-providence au Canada et aux États-Unis, de même que les conclusions sur la mondialisation, la fragmentation et le contrat social.
