The guidelines for the management of the Community Rapid Information System ‘RAPEX’ established under Article 12 and of the notification procedure established under Article 11 of Directive 2001/95/EC are set out in the Annex to this Decision.

The Regulation, which is based on a Commission's proposal of July 2003 (see IP/03/1100), provides for the electronic exchange of information between customs offices on movements of goods; requires traders to provide customs authorities with information on goods prior to their import into or export from the European Union via electronic summary declarations; and introduces a Community-wide computerised system for risk management.

Any project which concerns the following work will be deemed to be of common interest : construction and maintenance of all elements of the transport system generally open to all transport users within the port and of links with the national or international transport network ; in particular, this includes the development and maintenance of land for commercial and other port-related purposes, the construction and maintenance of road and rail connections, the construction and maintenance, including dredging, of access routes and of other areas of water in the port, and the construction and maintenance of navigation aids and traffic ma ...[+++]nagement, communication and information systems in the port and on the access routes.

Although not all the differences in the charging systems are incompatible with the objectives of the Community framework, these systems must meet a number of requirements if airport charges are to be non-discriminatory, reflect the costs borne by the airport and if airport users are to be well informed in order to promote efficient management of airport facilities.

We're looking not only at information systems, computer systems used for the communication and storage of information, but also at embedded systems where information technologies are becoming more and more important in design systems in communicating between computer systems and machinery on the shop floor and automated equipment being used in manufacturing and processing establishments.
