As its answer of 9 March 2000 to Written Question (P-0439/00 ) concerning the invitation to tender for an EU contract to supply gabion matting to Bolivia is incomplete, is the Commission aware that there is only one producer of braided gabions and gabion matting in Europe that meets the condition set out in the tender documents, i.e. that the materials supplied must bear a certificate of origin from an EU Member State, a Mercosur or Andean Pact country, Bolivia or Chile?
La réponse fournie le 9 mars dernier à la question (P-0439/00 ) concernant un appel d’offres européen pour la fourniture de matelas de gabions en Bolivie est incomplète. En effet, la Commission sait-elle qu’il n’existe en Europe qu’un seul producteur de gabions et de matelas de gabions tressés répondant à la condition figurant dans le cahier des charges, à savoir que le matériel livré doit être accompagné d’un certificat d’origine d’un Etat membre de l’Union européenne, du Mercosur ou du Pacte andin, de Bolivie ou du Chili ?
