– (NL) Mr President, the EU is right to be critical of the method applied by the Bush administration in the fight against terrorism, but this is not a sign of anti-Americanism as some hollow and cheap swipes made in this Chamber suggest, because the criticism of the Bush administration, and of the way in which it is riding roughshod over human rights, is far greater in the United States itself than here in Europe.
- (NL) Monsieur le Président, l’UE a raison de critiquer la méthode appliquée par l’administration Bush dans la lutte contre le terrorisme, mais ce n’est pas un signe d’anti-américanisme, comme certaines attaques creuses et faciles lancées ici le suggèrent, car les critiques vis-à-vis de l’administration Bush, et de la manière dont elle piétine les droits de l’homme, sont bien plus sévères aux États-Unis même qu’en Europe.
