Along with this petition, there is a petition on the web that has been signed by several thousand people, which we cannot present in the House but which plays an important role in asking Parliament to support the recommendation of the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans of extending Canada's jurisdiction or custodial management over the nose and tail of the Grand Banks and the Flemish Cap so we can protect the meagre resources we have left.
En plus de cette pétition, on trouve sur le web une autre pétition signée par plusieurs centaines de personnes, que nous ne pouvons présenter à la Chambre, mais qui joue un rôle très important pour demander l'appui du Parlement à l'égard de la recommandation du Comité permanent des pêches et océans pour élargir la juridiction du Canada ou sa gestion de gardien à l'égard du nez et de la queue des Grands Bancs et du Bonnet flamand, pour que nous puissions protéger les maigres ressources qui nous restent.
