Mr. Speaker, I rise today to honour two Chilliwack heroes, Flying Officer Dave Barrett and Warrant Officer Bernie McNicholl, for their service in Bomber Command operations during World War II. Flying Officer Barrett was a pilot in Mosquito bombers with the Pathfinders, flying ahead of the bomber squadrons to light up the target areas.
Monsieur le Président, je prends la parole aujourd'hui pour rendre hommage à deux héros de Chilliwack, le lieutenant d'aviation Dave Barrett ainsi que l'adjudant Bernie McNicholl, qui ont participé aux opérations du Bomber Command pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Le lieutenant d'aviation Barrett a piloté des chasseurs bombardiers Mosquito avec les Pathfinders.
