Mr. Speaker, when we consider for a second, and the member for Windsor West will I think appreciate and understand this, the rigmarole that people have to go through to get across that border, particularly from Canada into the United States, in a jurisdiction that is supposedly the freest in the world, the interrogation, the sometimes harassment, the hours that they spend at the bridge going through one or two or three processes of inspection, who would want to come back and do that more than once or maybe twice?
Monsieur le Président, si on pense un instant — et le député de Windsor-Ouest comprendra ce que je veux dire, je crois —, à toutes les formalités administratives auxquelles il faut se plier lorsqu'on traverse la frontière — surtout du Canada vers les États-Unis, le pays le plus libre du monde, supposément —, aux interrogatoires, voire au harcèlement, aux heures d'attente sur le pont pour se soumettre à, deux ou trois contrôles, qui voudrait y retourner et se soumettre aux mêmes formalités plus d'une fois?
