During the period of application of this Regulation, it shall be prohibited to fish for sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) in ICES divisions IVb,c, VIIa,d-k using pelagic trawls (referred to as OTM — midwater otter trawls, PTM — midwater pair trawls) with a cod end mesh size of 70 mm or greater.

Pendant la période d'application du présent règlement, il est interdit de pratiquer la pêche du bar (Dicentrarchus labrax) dans les divisions CIEM IV b, c, VII a, d-k au moyen de chaluts pélagiques (désignés par les codes OTM-chaluts pélagiques à panneaux et PTM-chaluts-bœufs pélagiques), avec un maillage de la poche de 70 mm ou plus.

Pelagic trawl means gear which is towed by one or more fishing vessels in midwater and consisting of a net with large meshes in the front section which herd the catch towards the net aft sections which are constructed in small mesh, for which the fishing depth is controlled by means of a net sounder and the horizontal opening is controlled by otter boards which normally do not touch the seabed.
