That said, my concern is that in a country where there is an Official Languages Act, if the highest court in the land is unable to hear a case in one official language or the other without the help of interpretation, aside from all the other problems we have discussed, the issue of having a good understanding of the language, understanding the culture around that language, the issues of meaning and mistranslation, what kind of example are we setting?
Par contre, mon inquiétude est que, dans un pays où il y a une Loi sur les langues officielles, si le plus haut tribunal du pays n'est pas en mesure d'entendre une cause dans l'une ou l'autre des langues officielles sans l'aide d'une interprétation, à part tous les autres problèmes dont nous avons discutés — la question de bien comprendre la langue, bien comprendre la culture qui l'accompagne, la question du sens et des risques de traduction — quel exemple donnons-nous?
