10. Supports the statements made by the new Palestinian President, MrAbbas, and his intention of bringing the spiral of violence to an end; strongly encourages him to continue his efforts to persuade Palestinian armed organisations, in particular Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, to agree to an immediate ceasefire in order to enable them to become involved in the political process leading to the Palestinian legislative elections in mid-July 2005;
10. soutient les déclarations et l'intention du nouveau président palestinien, M. Abbas, de tout faire pour mettre fin à la spirale de la violence; l'encourage vivement à continuer dans sa recherche d'un cessez-le-feu immédiat avec les organisations armées palestiniennes, notamment le Hamas et le Jihad Islamique, afin d'obtenir leur participation au processus politique conduisant aux élections législatives palestiniennes de la mi-juillet 2005;
