The president of the European Economic and Social Committee felt that a quantum leap was needed in economic governance in terms of quality, and he called for systematic recourse to the Community method and strengthening of the powers of the Commission and the European Parliament, as well as for participation of the European Economic and Social Committee and all the other players representing organised civil society in the process of shaping policy and preparing decisions.
Le Président du Comité économique et social européen a estimé indispensable un saut qualitatif en matière de gouvernance économique et préconisé un recours systématique à la méthode communautaire et un renforcement des compétences de la Commission et du Parlement européen, ainsi qu'une participation du Comité économique et social européen et de tous les autres acteurs représentatifs de la société civile organisée, au processus de formation des politiques et de préparation des décisions.
