It will be a pleasure to say that when others failed to stand tall, this committee took the bull by the horns and did the right thing, unafraid of party consequences, unafraid of the party whip, and that we moved forward aggressively and positively for the future of Canada and the future of democracy not because we were told to do so by the party whip, but because we knew in our hearts it was the right thing for all of democracy, including the Canadian way.
Ce sera un plaisir de dire que notre comité a pris le taureau par les cornes et a décidé d'agir, sans crainte des conséquences partisanes, sans crainte des whips des partis, que nous avons agi de façon positive et dynamique pour l'avenir du Canada et de la démocratie, non pas parce que nos whips nous l'ont dit, mais parce que nous savions au plus profond de nous-mêmes que c'était ce qu'il convenait de faire pour l'ensemble de la démocratie et du mode de vie canadien.
