The approach to be adopted by the EU should treat the issue of human rights as a fundamental factor, on the one hand, and, on the other, recognise the stabilising role of Iran in the region on condition that it normalises relations with its neighbours and other international players, gives up its nuclear programme and improves human and democratic conditions.
En ce qui concerne l’approche à adopter par l’Union européenne, celle-ci devrait considérer, d’une part, que la question des droits de l’homme constitue un facteur fondamental, et elle devrait reconnaître, d’autre part, le rôle stabilisateur de l’Iran dans la région à condition que ce pays normalise ses relations avec ses voisins et d’autres acteurs internationaux, qu’il abandonne son programme nucléaire et qu’il améliore les conditions humaines et démocratiques.
